After graduating from MSU, Ms. Sevean taught at the former St. Mary School in Paterson for a few years before returning to school to complete alternate route certification in Speech Arts and Theater.

After raising her children for several years and being actively involved in the Wayne public schools PTO, Ms. Sevean got back into the workforce. She was a preschool teacher, summer camp coordinator, and, more recently, Center Director, also while being a catechist at her parish. It was during this time that she realized she was most interested in pursuing a teaching position in which she could teach students about religion and how to live as a faith-filled follower of Jesus. It became most evident at a workshop that she attended where Mrs. Bullman was a speaker. Ms. Sevean was so inspired by Mrs. Bullman and knew she had to make some sort of a change. Little did she know that an opportunity working with Mrs. Bullman would be exactly where she was meant to be!

Ms. Sevean enjoys spending her free time with her friends and family, especially her three daughters. She loves all things entertainment (television, movies, live theater, especially Broadway). Ms. Sevean has been delighted to become part of the DePaul family and cannot wait to become even more involved with extracurricular opportunities with the students!
