Dr. Wagoner currently teaches Physics. He has taught most high school level Physical Science and Mathematics courses. Dr. Wagoner developed the technology component of a math/science/technology program that achieved national recognition. For several years, Dr. Wagoner taught college-level engineering review courses. Dr. Wagoner's educational interests include developing approaches in secondary education that increase college degree persistence and foster early professional development.

Dr. Wagoner is a licensed professional engineer with extensive experience prior to teaching, in managing equipment design and managing construction of both shore and marine projects. The projects were located across the United States, northern Europe, and the Islands and varied from air/water pollution control and nuclear waste storage to hospital and high-rise construction.

He is the moderator of Robotics Club in which students build experience with programming a microprocessor-based robot using school laptop. Dr. Wagoner holds licenses in both Amateur and Commercial Radio Services and serves as moderator of the DePaul Amateur Radio Club (WA2DPC), in which students can earn an FCC Amateur Radio License and qualify to operate a radio with world-wide and satellite communication capacity.

Dr. Wagoner was president of the Stevens Alumni Association and served two terms on the Stevens Board of Trustees, focused on fundraising, enhancing participation, fiscal stability, and institutional sustainability.

His interests include an active role in local and Passaic County emergency management. Dr. Wagoner has extensive experience managing emergency communications and training first responders in effective radio use during an emergency. Dr. Wagoner is a firm believer in life-long learning. He holds a doctorate in education with a focused interest on student preparation for college STEM core courses and improving persistence to degree completion.
